FREE Financial Literacy program for High Schools

Invitation for Teachers - Webinars on FoolProof and Financial Literacy

 

FoolProof for Students is completely free financial literacy program that meets 100% of Oklahoma's "Passport" Standards. If you're interested in learning more or have questions, online webinars are coming up to help you.

 

Teachers can register now for online webinars about FoolProof for Students. Our 2014 webinars are offered at two different times (3:45p & 7:00p) on several different dates - May 8th, July 23rd, Sept. 9th and Sept. 23rd.

 

 

What is Financial Literacy?

 

Financial literacy is the ability to use knowledge and skills to manage one’s financial resources effectively for lifetime financial security. TTCU The Credit Union is proud to offer FoolProof Financial Literacy tools to our members and the entire community.

 

FoolProof is a comprehensive online learning program designed by a nationally known group of consumer advocates to deliver free financial literacy programs to all consumers, from middle school-age through retirement. FoolProof for High Schools 

 

In 2007, the state of Oklahoma passed the Passport to Financial Literacy Act, requiring that students in Grades 7-12 learn basic concepts of handling their finances. The fourteen different topics designated as standards for instruction are intended to provide students with the basic skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage their personal finances.

 

 

TTCU’s FoolProof for High Schools program is a FREE online program designed to help Oklahoma schools meet the 14 standards for instruction required by the Passport to Financial Literacy Act. The interactive modules provide unbiased* and relevant financial education for students, while offering teachers exciting new tools for the classroom. *There is no advertising within the education modules.

The FoolProof for High Schools comprehensive online programs teach financial literacy through web-driven, interactive modules, featuring video and audio clips that engage young people and make learning fun and interesting. These modules can be done in the classroom (computers are necessary) or given as homework. Teachers can select certain modules to enhance their current curriculum or have students complete them all while easily tracking progress and test scores online.

FoolProof Solo – For Young Adults
FoolProof Solo is a complete financial education program for college-aged people and young adults designed to teach young people about financial responsibility and the realities of the free enterprise system using interactive modules, video and audio clips that teach successful money management. 

 

FoolProof Parents – Educate Your Kids
FoolProof Parents is a web-driven financial education program designed for parents to use with their teenage children using interactive modules that teach financial responsibility featuring topics such as opening and managing a checking account and how to avoid debt by using a credit card responsibly.

 

FoolProof WorkPlace
The FoolProof WorkPlace program is for those who enter the workforce without going to college or perhaps even graduating from high school. The online modules are designed for instructors of special education classes, alternative high schools or career and technical schools, to help teach young adult consumers about financial responsibility and the realities of the free enterprise system. Businesses who employ a large number of young workers may also find this program useful. 

 

FoolProof Fast Facts
FoolProof Fast Facts lead young adults through seven self-guided money management modules teaching basics about checking accounts and credit cards teaching, them to be smart and informed consumers.

 

Buying Guides
The FoolProof Buying Guides cover the ins and outs of purchasing a Car, Mortgage, Home, Boat or RV and how to avoid common pitfalls and get the most value for your money. 

 

Consumer Guides
The FoolProof Consumer Guides walk consumers through topics like Auto Issues, Fraud & Privacy, Repair Services, Financial Well-Being, Fifty-Plus living and a Homeowner’s Guide. Learn how to make the best choices whether it’s how to choose an auto mechanic or save for retirement, everything you need to know is right here.

Make Cents is an online newspaper designed to keep adults up to date on all the latest consumer news to help make you a smart and informed consumer.

 

My Money M2 – Young Adult Consumer News
M2 is a consumer news site focused on the financial issues encountered by young people and college students. It features timely articles, case studies and podcasts containing information to help protect you against being “fooled” into poor financial decisions.
