TTCU Federal Credit Union’s Board of Directors has named Shelby Beil the next president and CEO of TTCU, effective October 1. Beil will succeed Tim Lyons, who will step down after 35 years with TTCU and who has served as president and CEO since 2011.

Beil is currently TTCU’s Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer.

“Finding TTCU’s next president and CEO within the TTCU ranks speaks to the level of leadership already present in the organization,” said Saundra Ford, TTCU board chairperson. “Shelby Beil’s qualifications, vision and strong affinity with TTCU are exactly the right combination to lead TTCU into the future.”

Beil will be only the eighth president in TTCU’s history and brings a wealth of financial experience to the position. Prior to joining TTCU as Chief Financial Officer, he worked as the controller at Oklahoma Central Credit Union from 2002 to 2007. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Beil also completed the CEO Institute program through the Credit Union Executives Society (CUES) and holds the society’s CEO certification.

“I have been incredibly blessed to have been a part of TTCU for the past 17 years,” said Beil. “I will continue to serve with a grateful, humble appreciation for the privilege of leading this remarkable organization. I will continue TTCU’s longstanding focus of taking care of our employees, giving back to our community and enriching the lives of our members through financial leadership.”

Beil has a strong record of community service. He served on the board of JDRF Oklahoma from 2007 to 2021, including two tenures as chapter president, winning the Star of Hope award in 2019. He also has served on the Signature Symphony at TCC Advisory Board since 2019 and is currently the board chair. Additionally, Beil serves on the Philbrook Museum Board of Trustees, the Board of Trustees for the Tulsa Public Facilities Authority and is a member of Tulsa Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board.

“Throughout his career at TTCU, Shelby has served with integrity and vision, and been instrumental in TTCU’s growth and success,” said Lyons. “I am confident he is the right leader at the right time to continue TTCU’s legacy as our members’ trusted source for financial solutions.”

Beil is originally from Sapulpa and has a daughter who is a senior at the University of Tulsa, majoring in art history.
