The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is warning consumers about official-sounding phone calls. Criminals are telling consumers that their email account has been hacked. The calls sound official, but they're not.
Andrew Johnson, from the FTC's Division of Consumer and Business Education, wrote "crooks try to get access to your computer or sensitive information by offering to "fix" a computer problem that doesn’t actually exist."
