You've probably heard about Apple Pay™ – how it's so convenient, how it can save you time, how it's the greatest thing since sliced bread (speaking of which, when did "sliced bread" become the standard to which we measure how great something is?).
But how does Apple Pay really measure up in the real world? Is it a time-saver? Does it deliver everything as promised? Now that Apple Pay is available for TTCU cardholders, I wanted to conduct my own “field test” and give you the rundown.
First of all, Apple Pay is crazy convenient. I didn't have to dig for my wallet in the abyss that is my purse. I didn't have to sort through a pile of cards. I simply pulled up the Apple Pay app on my phone, tapped it to the card reader and I was on my way. One of the Apple Pay slogans is, "Your wallet. Without the wallet." and that is exactly how it feels.
The second feature I really like is having all of my Apple Pay transactions available on my phone. With just a couple of taps, I can see the purchase amount, the location and when the transaction took place. Also, the security is top-notch. Apple Pay transactions are authorized with your fingerprint or passcode so the merchant never sees your card!
These positives outweigh the few negatives that I've found. For example, not everyone has an iPhone. Several of my friends are loyal to Android. Plus, Apple Pay is not accepted everywhere, so using it exclusively for all my purchases would be difficult.
In short, my experience with Apple Pay has been fantastic. More information about Apple Pay is available on TTCU's website.
